FROM THE SWAMPS TO THE MILLION-DOLLAR PENTHOUSE
CHAPTER 1: CORNERED ON THE WILD CLIFFS
The Breathless Cornfield Chase
The roar of heavy engines tore through the silent suburban air. Across a vast cornfield stretching to the horizon, vibrant green stalks were violently crushed and pulverized beneath monstrous tracks and oversized tires.
A heavy SWAT armored vehicle tore through the field with terrifying momentum. Its target: a lone, relentless figure sprinting forward. This was Marcus—a seasoned former Special Forces officer holding the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army. His breath hitched in ragged gasps, sweat mingling with grit as it poured down his weathered, silver-flecked bearded face. Marcus’s chances of survival shrank by the second as the roar of the armored beast closed in from behind.
A Desperate Leap at the Abandoned Quarry
The engine’s roar abruptly cut out as Marcus was driven to the absolute edge of an abandoned stone quarry. Before him lay a sheer drop of over 100 feet into a jagged abyss of sharp, fractured rocks. Behind him, a cloud of dust erupted as the armored vehicle's doors flew open. A squad of heavily armed SWAT officers poured out, their dark barrels instantly locking onto him.
Without a second of hesitation, without a word of surrender, Marcus glanced back and threw himself into the void.
"Secure the ledge! Secure the ledge!" – The SWAT commander’s voice barked over the comms.
The squad deployed rapidly, locking down the perimeter and aiming thermal optics and tactical binoculars into the deep abyss. But the only response from below was the dead silence of stone.
"I don't see a body, there's no blood." – A sniper reported, his face tightening with confusion.

The SWAT commander let out a cold smirk, sheer arrogance bleeding through his tactical mask. He refused to believe any mere mortal could survive such a devastating plunge. He issued a chilling order:
"He couldn't survive a 100-foot drop. Check the tree line at the base."
