Chapter 10 - The Downfall of Sean O'Leary and the Sunrise Over Boston Harbor

By Monday noon, the federal indictment against Sean O'Leary and his entire syndicate was signed, sealed, and executed by a coalition of federal marshals and state police backed by every piece of documentary evidence contained in Thomas Calloway’s hidden vault.

O'Leary was arrested during a closed-door meeting at his South Boston shipping office, surrounded by ledgers, tax evasion records, and the digital blueprints of the illegal weapons pipeline that had been sealed inside the West Fourth Street wall since 1998.

The O'Leary dynasty crumbled in less than twelve hours.

And in the quiet courtyard of the Beacon Hill brownstone, the morning sun finally broke through the gray November clouds, casting warm golden light across the cobblestones.

Nora Bennett stood on the back porch, wearing a clean oversized cashmere sweater that smelled faintly of cedarwood, holding a mug of dark roast coffee between her hands.

The bakery counter at Aunt Millie’s was open, but for the first time in three years, she hadn't opened it at 4:00 AM.

She didn't need to.

Behind her, the heavy oak door opened, and strong arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her back against a solid, familiar chest.

"Morning," Vincent murmured against her neck, pressing a warm kiss just below her ear.

"Morning," Nora smiled, leaning back into his embrace and resting her coffee mug on the wooden railing. "You know, for a terrifying crime boss, you're surprisingly good at domestic life."

"I told you," Vincent chuckled softly, his arms tightening around her. "Perspective is everything."

She turned in his arms, looking up into his dark eyes with a playful grin.

"Does this mean I get to keep poking you in the chest whenever you block my hallway?"

Vincent’s mouth twitched into that dangerous, half-formed smile she had come to love.
