Chapter 10 - She Came to Clean His House, But She Stole His Cold Heart

Six months later.
The walnut table on the third floor was still used for meetings.
Vincent Marchetti sat in Damien’s old chair, going over the legal logistics of a new real estate acquisition.
The business was cleaner now.
Fewer shadows, more legitimate profit.
Suddenly, the heavy oak doors burst open.
No one reached for their weapons anymore.
Sophie ran into the room, wearing a princess dress, giggling uncontrollably.
"Catch me if you can!" she squealed, hiding under the long conference table.
Alessandro walked in a second later.
He was wearing a tailored suit, looking every bit the untouchable billionaire boss.
But the terrifying aura that used to suffocate the room was gone.
"Vincent, did you see a fugitive princess run through here?" Alessandro asked seriously.
Vincent suppressed a smile. "I believe she went under the table, Boss."
Alessandro ducked under the table, dragging out a shrieking, laughing Sophie.
He tossed her into the air, catching her effortlessly.
"Gotcha."
Clara walked into the room, leaning casually against the doorframe.
She wore an elegant dress, a diamond necklace resting against her collarbone.
She was no longer the frightened maid.
She was the undisputed queen of the Viscari empire.
"You are spoiling her, Alessandro," Clara said, her eyes filled with warmth.
"She deserves to be spoiled," he replied, kissing Sophie’s cheek before putting her down.
"Go play in the garden, little one. The guards are waiting."
Sophie ran out, waving to Vincent.
Alessandro walked over to Clara, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her deeply, right in front of his underboss.
He didn't care who saw.
His one rule—nothing personal in this room—had been broken permanently.
"Meeting suspended?" Vincent asked with a smirk, gathering his folders.
"Meeting suspended," Alessandro agreed without looking away from Clara.
Vincent quietly left the room, closing the heavy oak doors behind him.
Alessandro rested his forehead against Clara’s.
"I was thinking," he whispered. "The medical wing is too quiet these days. Maybe we should fill it with a new baby."
Clara laughed, a bright, happy sound.
"Are you asking for another child, Mr. Viscari?"
"I am demanding one, Mrs. Viscari," he teased, brushing his lips against hers.
They stood together in the room where it all started.
A room that used to represent isolation and power.
Now, it just represented home.
The silver bracelet that had nearly destroyed them was locked away in a safe, a reminder of the past.
But Alessandro didn't need to look at it anymore.

He had everything he ever wanted right in his arms.
