Chapter 3 - THE DOCUMENTS OF DESTRUCTION: REVEALING THE TRUE CONSPIRACY

The papers fluttered slightly in the evening coastal breeze, illuminated by the warm security lights of the Malibu estate.
Robert stared at the pages as if trying to decipher a dead language.
“What is this?” he stammered, his face draining of color. “This—this is a mistake. Audrey is just throwing a tantrum. She does this when she’s stressed.”
The new owner—a self-made real estate tycoon named Julian Thorne—did not smile.
Julian had spent years trying to acquire this exact oceanfront parcel, blocked only by zoning technicalities and my stubborn refusal to sell.
When I finally contacted him offering the deed at a steep discount with immediate closing, he realized not only was he getting his dream property, but he was also holding the front-row seat to a masterclass in retribution.
“Mistakes rarely come notarized, Mr. Miller,” Julian said, his voice cutting through the panic. “Shall we read aloud what your mother wrote to your sister two weeks ago? Or would you prefer we skip straight to the financial forensics report detailing how much company money you and Tiffany embezzled through fake marketing contracts?”
Tiffany gasped, clutching her wedding gown.
“You—you hacked our messages?” she cried out, her voice pitching into hysteria.
“No, my wife merely retained forensic accountants after discovering your little Instagram announcement,” Julian corrected smoothly. “It turns out that maintaining a $10 million lifestyle requires actual income, not just entitlement. And your little corporate stunt at Audrey’s firm? The internal audit was finalized twenty minutes before I landed here.”
Robert’s mother lunged forward, her diamond rings catching the light.
“Listen to me, you arrogant man! My son is an executive! We are Miller family royalty! You cannot treat us like common criminals! Audrey is just a hysterical woman who will beg for him back by morning!”
Julian raised a single eyebrow.
“Audrey is currently sleeping in a penthouse suite at the Ritz-Carlton, having champagne with her divorce attorney, while you three stand on the pavement like homeless squatters. The local police department has already been notified that three unauthorized individuals are trespassing on private property.”
As if on cue, the low rumble of a police cruiser echoed down the private drive.
Red and blue lights flashed against the pristine white stucco walls of the bungalow.
Robert looked frantically from the police car to the locked gates, then down at his empty hands.
“Call her,” he pleaded, his bravado entirely evaporated. “Julian, please. Just let me speak to my wife for two minutes. We can work this out. We have history.”
“History?” Julian asked coldly. “Mr. Miller, history ended the moment you signed your marriage license with another woman while your wife was closing a million-dollar contract to keep a roof over your ungrateful head.”
The police officers stepped out of their cruiser, hands resting on their utility belts.

“Is there a problem here, Mr. Thorne?” the senior officer asked, clearly familiar with the city’s newest high-profile homeowner.
“None at all, Officer,” Julian replied, turning toward the driveway. “Just three individuals who failed to realize that the locks had been changed, and that the person holding the keys is no longer funding their fairy tale.”
