Chapter 7 - The Final Exposure

The final act occurred when I handed over the files to a forensic accountant. Throughout my time managing their finances, I had kept meticulous records of the "loans" and "transfers" my father had pressured me to process—funds that were actually being used to settle his mounting gambling debts and failed real estate gambles.

The documentation was undeniable. When the authorities arrived at my parents’ home, the facade they had spent decades building finally crumbled. It wasn't just a loss of money; it was the loss of the credibility they held so dear. My brother, Marcus, who had always played the "good guy" while silently benefiting from the fraud, was forced to return his leased car and move into a studio apartment.

They reached out one last time—not to apologize, but to beg for a bailout. They still didn't understand the gravity of their actions. They thought this was still about money. I sent them a single, final email: “I am not the bank of your mistakes, and I am certainly not the audience for your performative victimhood. Do not contact me again.” Then, I deleted their numbers.
