Sadie sat in the passenger seat, reviewing the acquisition manifests for the upcoming autumn gala at the Art Institute of Chicago—a gala the Russo family was secretly sponsoring to launder three newly recovered Flemish masterpieces.
Marcus glanced up from the rearview mirror, his face expressionless. “Boss, we’ve got a tail. A late-model sedan picked us up two blocks back near Michigan Avenue. They’re keeping three car lengths back.”
Callum didn't even turn his head. He adjusted his cufflink, his expression hardening into that familiar, lethal focus. “Take the Division Street exit, Marcus,” Callum ordered quietly. “Let’s see who’s brave enough to follow us home.”

“Do you want me to run the license plate through the museum's registry?” Sadie asked, her voice calm and steady. Callum reached over, resting his hand gently on the back of her neck, his thumb tracing the line of her collar. “No need, Sadie,” Callum replied softly, a dangerous, cold smile touching his lips. “Some people just need to be reminded of the rules.”
