Chapter 15 - The New Dawn

The red and blue lights of the police cruisers began to paint the stone walls of the quarry in a rhythmic dance.
Silas’s loyalists threw down their weapons, realizing the game was completely over.
The federal agents, backed by the evidence Roman had secured before his death, poured into the quarry.
They arrested Silas, dragging him out of the vault in handcuffs, his silver ring stripped from his finger and tossed onto the dirt.
As the police wrapped Gregory in a warm blanket, he walked over to Lyra, his eyes shining with pride.
“You did it, little star,” Gregory said softly. “Your father can finally rest.”
Marcus walked up to her, holding the silver enforcer ring that had belonged to Silas.
He knelt down before her, his massive frame humble.
“The club is clean now, Lyra,” Marcus said. “We are going to rebuild it. The way Roman wanted. Honest. Strong. A real family.”
He offered her the second ring.
Lyra looked at the two rings—the left and the right, the complete legacy of the Iron Wolves.
She didn’t put the second one on.
Instead, she handed it to Gregory.
“You keep this one,” Lyra said, her voice warm for the first time. “You were always my father’s true enforcer.”
Gregory took the ring, his hand trembling as he slipped it on.
Lyra looked up at the moon, feeling a gentle breeze brush against her cheek, like a warm hand patting her head.
The little girl who had walked into a den of wolves alone was no longer alone.

She had her family back.
She turned and walked out of the quarry, her small boots steady on the gravel, ready to lead them all into a new dawn.
