Chapter 6 - The Unveiling

The atmosphere in the room was thick with tension. Darius tried to intercept her, but the board members, sensing a shift in power, began to draw back, watching with predatory interest. Zolani reached the microphone. She looked out at the sea of faces—people who had ignored her or looked down on her for years.

“My father, Samuel Okafor, was a visionary,” she began, her voice steady and clear. “He believed that a hospital should be a place of healing, not a personal bank account. When he founded Vantage Health Holdings, he built a structure that would protect this institution from those who would exploit it.” She turned to look at Darius, who was visibly shaking. “Darius, you have spent the last six months systematically dismantling my life, forging debts in my name, and trying to steal my daughter. You thought you were firing a nurse. In reality, you were firing the primary shareholder of your own career.”

She opened the folder. “Ladies and gentlemen, as of 8:00 PM tonight, the majority stake in Vantage Health Holdings has been activated in my name. By virtue of this stake, the current CEO of the hospital is hereby dismissed, and the entire Board of Directors is suspended pending a forensic audit of all funds, including the ‘Expansion Initiative’.” The gasps were audible. Photographers began snapping pictures. Simone turned to run, but her exit was blocked by the legal team Solomon had stationed at the doors. Darius sank into a chair, his face ash-gray. His dream had just been reduced to a pile of legal filings.
