Chapter 8 - A New Dawn

Six months later, the Sterling mansion was finally filled with warmth. The heavy, dark curtains had been taken down, replaced by sheer fabrics that let the sunlight pour in. The cold, echoing halls now echoed with the sound of a baby’s laughter. Victoria was serving a ten-year sentence in a federal penitentiary. The scandal had rocked the elite society circles, but Nathan didn't care. He had stepped down as CEO of the primary Sterling holding company, handing it over to a trusted board. He had reorganized the entire structure of the family wealth. The three-billion-dollar trust fund was secured, locked away tight for Leo’s future. But they weren't going to raise him to be an arrogant heir. Elena had started a massive charitable foundation in Leo's name. They were building schools and funding pediatric healthcare for underprivileged families. They were turning dirty money into a legacy of kindness. Elena sat in the garden, the warm afternoon sun kissing her skin. Leo was crawling on the grass, chasing a brightly colored butterfly. Nathan walked out of the house, holding a tray with fresh lemonade. He set it down and sat next to Elena, pulling her close. He kissed the cheek that had once borne a violent red mark. Now, it was only flushed with happiness. “He’s getting fast,” Nathan laughed, watching Leo zoom across the lawn. “He takes after his father,” Elena smiled, resting her head on Nathan’s shoulder. They had survived the ultimate test. They had fought monsters, greed, and a toxic legacy. And they had won. Not with money, or power, or manipulation. But with a united front, and a love that refused to be broken. As Leo turned back and giggled, reaching his tiny hands up toward them, Elena knew, without a shadow of a doubt, Their family was finally safe. The Sterling curse was broken forever.
