Chapter 15 - A New Dawn on Madison Avenue

Six months later, the morning sun poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Madison Avenue townhouse, casting warm, golden rays across the polished hardwood floors.

The nursery was filled with the happy, bubbling laughter of six-month-old Elena as she kicked her chubby legs against the play mat while trying to grab a silver mobile dancing overhead.

I stood by the kitchen island, pouring fresh coffee into two porcelain mugs, when strong, familiar arms wrapped around my waist from behind.

A chin settled comfortably onto my shoulder, and warm lips pressed a soft kiss against my neck.

“You smell like vanilla and heaven,” Luca murmured against my skin, his arms tightening possessively around my waist.

“You’re going to be late for the board meeting,” I smiled, leaning back into his solid chest.

“Let the board wait,” he chuckled, turning me around in his arms so I was facing him.

He looked rested, radiant, and completely at peace—the heavy, haunted shadow of corporate warfare completely gone from his eyes.

“Besides, Marcus Hayes is handling the final liquidation of Sinclair Maritime’s assets this morning.”

“Arthur Vance filed the last paperwork yesterday.”

“It’s officially over, Isabella.”

I reached up, wrapping my arms around his neck, and kissed him deeply, tasting the rich coffee and the absolute, unshakable certainty of our future.

“I know,” I whispered against his lips.

“Because we’ve already won.”

A sharp, happy squeal from the nursery interrupted our moment.

Luca grinned, pressing one last lingering kiss to my forehead before turning toward the hallway.

“Come on, little princess,” he called out, striding down the hall to scoop our daughter into his arms.

“Let’s go show Mommy how well we can crawl today.”

I watched them from the kitchen doorway—the billionaire titan who had once lost everything to a lie, now completely brought to his knees by the simple, profound joy of a baby’s laughter and a faithful wife’s love.

The world outside on Madison Avenue rushed by in a blur of yellow cabs and hurried footsteps, but inside our walls, time stood still.

We had survived the fire.

And out of the ashes, our true story had finally begun.
