Chapter 11 - The Fall of the House of Victoria and the Final Judgment in the Boardroom

The heavy oak doors of the master boardroom remained bolted from the inside, sealing out the rest of the corporate world as the morning light beat down relentlessly against the tall glass windows.

Victoria Ferrara stood frozen at her seat, her immaculate cream-colored Chanel suit suddenly feeling like a straitjacket as the collective gaze of the entire executive board shifted from her to Santino.

Marcus Vance hovered beside her like a condemned man, his hand trembling slightly as he clutched his leather briefcase against his chest, realizing that every fraudulent document inside it had just become evidence against him.

Santino Ferrara did not raise his voice.

He didn't need to.

With a slow, deliberate movement, he gestured toward Emily, who stepped forward with a pristine, bound legal folder bearing the official seal of the Ferrara Logistics audit division.

“Before we discuss quarterly shipping revenues or emergency restructuring,” Santino began, his gravelly voice cutting through the heavy silence like a razor, “we are going to correct a historical error that has stained the integrity of this company for ten long years.”

Emily opened the folder, her voice ringing clear and steady across the expansive room.

“On October 14, 2016, ten million dollars in narcotics were intercepted at Terminal 4,” Emily recited, her eyes locked directly onto Marcus Vance’s terrified face. “The blame was officially placed on dock supervisor Arthur Taylor, resulting in his wrongful termination and public disgrace. However, financial forensics recovered from Marcus Vance’s encrypted offshore servers prove that Marcus and an internal co-conspirator engineered the entire shipment, forged my father's signature, and funneled the profits into private accounts.”

A loud murmur of shock erupted around the mahogany table.

Regional capos and senior executives exchanged uneasy glances, realizing the magnitude of the betrayal happening right before their eyes.

Victoria slammed her palm flat against the wood, her voice shaking with desperate fury.

“This is an absurdity!” Victoria hissed, her composure finally shattering into jagged pieces. “You're letting a low-level temporary secretary with a forged resume rewrite company history just because she managed to pull you out of a swimming pool like a stray dog? Santino, have her dragged out of this building right now!”

Santino did not blink.

He simply rotated his wheelchair slightly to face his sister, his slate-grey eyes gleaming with a terrifying, absolute coldness.

“She isn't a stray dog, Victoria,” Santino said softly, the silence in the room deepening into something suffocating. “She’s the only person in this room with enough loyalty and intelligence to expose the rats gnawing at the foundations of my empire from within. And as for her resume—she didn't forge it. She curated it to trap you.”

Marcus Vance, realizing he was being thrown to the wolves to protect Victoria, suddenly snapped.

“She didn't act alone!” Marcus blurted out, pointing a shaking finger directly at Victoria. “Victoria ordered the setup ten years ago! She wanted control of the shipping lanes to fund her own independent ventures, and she forced me to forge the paperwork!”

Victoria whipped her head around, her eyes flashing with pure venom as she glared at Marcus.

“You pathetic coward!” she screamed, dropping all pretense of aristocratic grace.

Before the argument could escalate further, Rafe Lombardi stepped forward from the shadows near the door, flanked by two heavy-set security guards.

Rafe didn't say a word; he simply placed a pair of heavy steel zip-ties on the table right in front of Marcus and Victoria.

“The board has voted unanimously to strip both of you of your titles, your shares, and your corporate access, effective immediately,” Santino declared with absolute finality. “Rafe, escort them out through the service loading dock. Make sure they leave every corporate asset behind them.”

As Rafe and the guards moved in to haul the weeping, screaming conspirators out of the room, Victoria cast one final, murderous look at Emily.

“You think you won?” Victoria spat out bitterly as she was dragged toward the doors. “The syndicate will never accept a secretary as its master! This isn't over!”

The heavy oak doors slammed shut behind them, cutting off her voice, and absolute peace settled over the boardroom once more.

Santino turned his wheelchair around, facing Emily, who stood tall and unyielding beside his desk, her long-sought vengeance finally realized.
