Chapter 15 - Beneath the Bellini Sky

Six months later, the Bellini estate looked completely different to anyone driving past the iron gates on Highway 9.

The heavy iron chains on the main gates had been replaced, welcoming local vendors, legal partners, and legitimate business associates in broad daylight.

Inside the grand manor, the oppressive silence of fear had been replaced by the soft laughter of a baby playing in the sunlit solarium.

Sarah and her daughter were comfortably settled in their new home down south, supported by an educational trust established directly by the Bellini Foundation.

And Rachel Evans was no longer hiding bruises under long sleeves or trembling when heavy boots crossed the hardwood floor.

She walked through the estate’s corridors with her head held high, no longer a terrified maid, but an equal partner in managing the complex domestic heart of the household.

On a warm Sunday afternoon, Margaret Bellini sat by the garden patio, her fingers resting peacefully on the arm of her wicker chair.

A few feet away, Mason and Rachel stood side by side near the stone fountain, watching the golden sunlight filter through the ancient oak branches.

Mason reached out, his warm calloused fingers brushing gently against Rachel’s unblemished wrist—not with the cruel grip of a predator, but with a tender, unbreakable hold.

Rachel didn't pull away.

She smiled, turning her hand to interlock her fingers with his.

The dark secrets of the past twenty years had finally been dragged into the light and buried forever.
