Chapter 10 - A New Beginning

The wedding of Ethan Vale and Elena Ramirez was nothing like the high-society circus Vanessa Cross had planned. There were no paparazzi, no corporate sponsors, and no political donors using the event for publicity.
Instead, the ceremony took place in the beautifully restored gardens of the Vale Estate, surrounded only by true friends, the entire estate staff who were now treated as family, and the people whose lives had been changed by Elena’s new foundation.
Leo stood proudly at the altar as Ethan’s best man, wearing a tiny, custom-tailored tuxedo that matched Ethan’s perfectly. His smile was wider than the ocean.
When the music began to play, Elena appeared at the end of the aisle. She wore a simple, elegant ivory gown that flowed around her like a cloud. She didn't wear diamonds or extravagant jewels; she only wore a small, silver locket containing a photo of her late husband—a respectful nod to the past as she walked boldly into the future.
Ethan watched her walk toward him, his vision blurring slightly with tears. He remembered the first night he had truly seen her—pale, hurting, and exhausted in that tiny servant’s room. He remembered the shame he had felt, and the promise he had made to fix it. Today, that promise was fulfilled.
They exchanged vows under the warm afternoon sun, promises not of financial security or social status, but of mutual respect, enduring protection, and unconditional love. When the priest finally pronounced them husband and wife, Ethan pulled Elena into his arms, kissing her with a passion that drew cheers and applause from everyone present.
The reception that followed was filled with music, laughter, and an abundance of food. There were no rigid protocols; people danced, talked, and celebrated freely.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden, warm light over the entire estate, Ethan and Elena walked away from the crowd for a quiet moment together near the old rose gardens.
Leo ran up to them, throwing his arms around both of their waists. "Are we officially a family now?" he asked, looking up with wide, hopeful eyes.
May you like
Ethan knelt down, picking the boy up into a strong embrace, while keeping his other arm tightly around Elena’s waist. "We've been a family for a long time, Leo. But today, it’s official. No one will ever make you or your mom feel small again. I promise."
Elena leaned her head against Ethan’s shoulder, watching the stars begin to twinkle in the clear evening sky. The trauma of her past, the cruelty of Vanessa, and the long nights of fear were finally gone, replaced by the secure, loving embrace of a man who truly valued her worth. They had turned the dirt of betrayal into the foundation of a beautiful, unbreakable empire of love.
