Chapter 8 - THE NEW DAWN AND THE PROMISE OF TOMORROW

One year later, the glass-paneled terrace of The Grandview Estate had been completely transformed. There were no cameras, no gossip columnists, no hidden manila envelopes, and no fake brides in designer gowns.

Instead, the lawn was filled with laughter, the sweet smell of barbecue, and the sound of children running barefoot across the grass. Lucas had bought out the estate, turning it into a community center and foundation for families in crisis, a place where single parents could find genuine support and legal protection against predators like Elena.

Lucas stood on the stone balcony, holding a warm mug of coffee as he watched the sunset paint the sky in shades of deep violet and gold.

From behind him came the patter of running feet. A pair of small arms wrapped around his waist.

"Daddy, come on! The piñata is about to break!" Lily shouted, now seven years old, her laughter bubbling over with pure, unadulterated joy. She was wearing a simple, bright yellow summer dress—no silk, no lace, no hidden seams. Just happiness.

Lucas smiled, setting his coffee mug down and turning around to scoop her up into the air, making her squeal with delight.

"Lead the way, Captain," Lucas said, carrying his daughter down toward the lawn where their real family, their true friends, and their bright, unbreakable future awaited them under the open sky.
