Chapter 3 - The Billionaire's Secret Ally

Julian Vance was a name that commanded respect on Wall Street and fear in the boardroom. He was a self-made billionaire, a ruthless investor, and a man who despised corruption. But more importantly, he was the only man Charlotte had ever truly loved. They had dated in secret years ago, before the weight of their respective family empires drove them apart. Julian had never stopped looking for her after she mysteriously vanished three months ago.
Within twenty minutes, a sleek black Maybach pulled up to the dark, rainy alleyway where Charlotte was hiding. The door flew open. Julian stepped out, ignoring the pouring rain that soaked his expensive tailored suit. When his piercing gray eyes landed on Charlotte—bruised, bleeding, and shivering—a dangerous, murderous fury flashed across his face. “Who did this to you?” his voice was dangerously low, a deadly rumble. “Victoria Sterling,” Charlotte replied, her voice steady despite her shivering.
Julian didn’t say another word. He took off his warm suit jacket, wrapped it securely around her shoulders, and gently guided her into the back of the Maybach. Inside the luxurious, heated car, he poured her a glass of warm water. “Arthur Sterling announced you had suffered a mental breakdown and fled to Europe,” Julian said, his jaw tight with suppressed rage. “He murdered my mother, Julian,” Charlotte said, looking directly into his eyes. “And he stole my entire life. But I have the proof.”

She took off her shoe and handed him the small, silver USB drive. Julian plugged it into the laptop built into the car’s console. Lines of encrypted data flashed across the screen. Offshore bank accounts. Fake shell companies. Millions of dollars funneled out of the Solmere Hotel directly into Arthur’s private funds. But worst of all—a payment receipt to a known hitman, dated exactly two days before Eleanor Vale’s car crash.
Julian’s eyes darkened with absolute disgust. “He’s not just a thief. He’s a monster.” Julian reached out and gently touched the unbruised side of Charlotte’s face. His touch was remarkably soft for a man so feared in the business world. “What is your next move, Charlotte?” he asked. Charlotte’s eyes burned with a cold, unstoppable fire. “Tomorrow night is the Solmere Grand Charity Gala,” she said. “Arthur plans to officially transfer all of my mother’s final shares to his name in front of the press.” She looked out the window at the glowing skyline. “I want to burn his world to the ground in front of everyone he knows. I want him to lose everything.” Julian smiled. It was a terrifying, predatory smile. “Then we better get you a dress fit for a Queen.”
