Chapter 7 - The Conspiracy Unveiled

The laptop was brought to the dining table.
The wealthy guests crowded around, morbidly fascinated by the unfolding drama.
Evelyn was no longer crying.
She was perfectly still, her face draining of all color.
Dr. Vance took a slow step backward toward the locked door, but a guard blocked his path.
Arthur’s security chief logged into the encrypted server.
He pulled up the footage from the kitchen, timestamped just one hour ago.
The video played in crisp, high-definition color.
On the screen, the kitchen was bustling with chefs.
But the camera angle clearly showed the plating station in the back corner.
Evelyn walked into the frame.
She looked over her shoulder, ensuring none of the chefs were watching.
Then, she reached into her designer clutch.
She pulled out a small plastic packet—the exact same kind Lily had found.
The guests gasped as the screen showed Evelyn emptying white powder into Arthur’s specific bowl.
But the video didn't stop there.
A moment later, Dr. Vance stepped into the frame.
He wasn't trying to stop her.
He was handing her a second packet.
Arthur turned up the volume on the laptop. The kitchen microphone was highly sensitive.
Dr. Vance's voice crackled through the speakers, chilling and cold.
"Double the dose tonight, Evie."
Evelyn’s voice replied on the video, completely devoid of her usual sweetness.
"Are you sure? We don't want to kill him too fast. It has to look natural."
Dr. Vance smirked on the screen.
"It will. Once the board sees him shaking and confused tonight, they’ll declare him medically incompetent tomorrow."

"And then, my love, you get medical power of attorney. You control the company, and I get my massive consulting fee."
Arthur sat frozen, watching the woman he loved plot his demise with clinical precision.
