Chapter 8 - The Price of ArroganceBy mid-afternoon, the federal marshals arrived at the Crimson Club. The elegant, historic building was surrounded by black SUVs, its wealthy members forced to watch in absolute horror as Thomas Sterling and three other prominent billionaires were led out in handcuffs, their faces shielded from the flashing cameras of the media.

Julianna Bradsford was found in a nearby hotel room, packing her bags in a desperate attempt to flee the jurisdiction. When the female officers clicked the steel cuffs around her wrists, she didn't scream or fight; she simply collapsed to the floor, her spirit completely broken by the sheer velocity of her destruction.
In the Vance Tower, Marcus stood at the head of the boardroom table once again, watching the live news coverage of the arrests on the massive screens. The remaining board members sat in absolute awe, realizing that the power couple at the helm of the company was entirely untouchable.
"The injunction has been dismissed with prejudice," the chief legal counsel announced, his voice filled with pride. "The court has ruled that the Vance succession is fully protected under the primary ironclad trust, and Thomas Sterling’s assets have been frozen pending a full federal trial."
Marcus didn't offer a word of celebration. He simply nodded once, his eyes cold and focused on the future. He turned to the board, his voice carrying the absolute authority of an absolute monarch.

"Let this be a final warning to anyone who mistakes our patience for weakness," Marcus declared, his gaze sweeping across the room. "The Vance empire does not defend; we eliminate threats. The next person who attempts to interfere with my family will not live to see the courtroom."
The board members nodded in unison, their compliance absolute, their loyalty cemented not by affection, but by the terrifying realization that to oppose the Vance family was to invite total, irreversible ruin.
