Chapter 10 - THE EMERGENCY BOARDROOM SHOWDOWN

The mahogany doors of the grand boardroom on the top floor of Moretti Enterprises swung open with a resounding thud.
Twenty-two members of the executive board of directors sat in absolute silence around the massive glass table, their faces grim as they looked toward the head of the room.
Luca Moretti walked in first, his posture rigid and commanding in his bespoke black suit.
Right behind him walked Elena, holding a thick manila folder, followed by Daniel carrying a secure digital tablet.
Sitting near the middle of the table was Richard Bellini, sweating profusely through his shirt collar, desperately whispering to his chief legal counsel.
Luca didn't take his usual seat at the absolute head of the table; instead, he stood tall behind the podium, his dark eyes sweeping across the assembly of elite executives.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen," Luca began, his deep voice carrying effortlessly across the silent room. "I apologize for calling an emergency session with less than two hours' notice, but an urgent matter of corporate fraud and systemic breach of contract has come to light."
Richard Bellini slammed his hand onto the glass table, standing up in a panic.
"This is an outrage! A private family dispute over a cancelled wedding does not warrant an emergency board intervention!" Richard shouted, his voice cracking with desperation.
Before Luca could reply, the side door of the boardroom clicked open.
A junior security guard walked in quickly, placing a heavy manila envelope and a handwritten legal addendum directly onto the podium in front of Luca.
It was the document I had discovered in the safehouse archives just forty minutes earlier, delivered via secure courier by Daniel's fast-response team.
Luca glanced down at the paper, a grim, humorless smile touching the corners of his mouth.
"Thank you, Olivia," Luca murmured softly, loud enough for the microphone to catch.
He looked back up at Richard Bellini, whose eyes widened in sudden, absolute terror as he recognized the weathered edges of the 2021 foundation ledger insert.
"You were saying, Richard?" Luca asked smoothly, holding up page forty-two of the ledger for the entire board to see. "You were saying this was just a private family dispute?"
Richard grabbed the edge of the table, his knees buckling slightly under his weight.
"Where... where did you find that?" Richard whispered, the blood draining completely from his face.
"It was sitting right in our company archives, protected by the very transparency your daughter tried so desperately to destroy," Luca announced to the board, his voice ringing with absolute finality. "This original 2021 contingency clause explicitly states that any calculated attempt at blackmail, fabricated scandal, or fraudulent entrapment to seize the waterfront trusts results in immediate and total forfeiture of all Bellini assets to the Moretti estate for the sum of one dollar."

Gasps erupted around the glass table as the corporate directors grabbed their tablets to review the digital scan Daniel was projecting onto the main wall screen.
Richard Bellini sank slowly back down into his leather chair, defeated, broken, and utterly ruined.
