Chapter 8 - RICHARD BELLINI'S HOSTILE TAKEOVER THREAT

The booming voice of Richard Bellini echoed off the crystal chandeliers, shaking the morning stillness of the grand dining room.
The billionaire media and shipping mogul stood at the edge of the table, his face flushed with fury, his expensive silk tie slightly askew.
"You explain yourself right now, Moretti, or I pull every single logistics contract out of your hands before the stock market opens at nine o'clock," Richard threatened, pointing a thick finger directly at Luca's chest.
Luca didn't flinch. He didn't even stand up from his chair.
He simply picked up his espresso cup, took a slow, deliberate sip, and set it back down onto its saucer with a soft clink.
"You can scream all you want, Richard," Luca said, his voice terrifyingly calm. "Your daughter isn't missing; she's resting upstairs in the east suite while my security team reviews her recent financial transactions."
Richard let out a harsh, barking laugh, glancing sideways at his two high-priced corporate lawyers.
"Transactions? She's your fiancée, you lunatic! She has access to our joint accounts!" Richard yelled. "Release her right this instant, or I'll launch a hostile takeover of Moretti Enterprises by noon."
Elena slowly stood up from her chair on the opposite side of the table, smoothing down the front of her charcoal blazer.
Richard stopped mid-sentence as his eyes finally registered the presence of the woman sitting across from Luca.
"Elena?" Richard stammered, his bravado faltering for a fraction of a second. "What is she doing here? What does your ex-wife have to do with family business?"
Elena walked slowly around the mahogany table until she stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Luca.
"I have everything to do with it, Richard," Elena said, her voice dropping into a tone of absolute authority. "Because your precious daughter didn't just plan a wedding—she hired a private investigator to stalk me, fabricate a fake five-year affair, and blackmail me into surrendering my family's controlling shares in the downtown shipping trust."
Richard’s face went from crimson to an unhealthy shade of pale gray.
"That's... that's complete nonsense," Richard stammered, though his voice lacked conviction. "My daughter would never—"
"Open the blue folder on the table, Richard," Luca interrupted coldly, sliding the manila documents across the wood toward the tycoon. "Read the wire transfer receipts from Vanessa's personal account to William Mercer. Read the signed contract detailing the slander campaign against my former wife."
Richard slowly reached out with a trembling hand, opened the folder, and scanned the printed bank statements and investigator logs.
His lawyers leaned in close, their eyes scanning the legal proof of conspiracy and corporate fraud.
The color drained entirely from Richard's face as he realized the magnitude of the trap his daughter had built—and how thoroughly it had backfired.

"She... she did this on her own," Richard whispered, his voice dropping to a defensive mutter. "She was just trying to secure our family's future in the merger."
"She committed federal wire fraud and criminal extortion inside my house," Luca said, standing up to his full height and towering over the older man. "And by ten o'clock this morning, the Board of Directors is going to see every single page of this file."
